The Staff
This area will offer a brief introduction to the Staff and give you some easy ways to memorize the staff and where the notes belong on the Staff.

The Staff is composed of five lines and four spaces. You will normally see it led with a treble clef. The treble clef normally refers to the higher pitched sounds.

Notes are written on either a line or in a space. They are named with the first seven letters of the alphabet (A,B,C,D,E,F,G).

Sometime the notes will extend above and below the staff into an area that looks like a "virtual" staff, also known as Major and Minor areas. Simply continue with the note order as on the scale and you will have no problems.

Tip to Remember
A simple way to remember the note order on the staff is with a simple saying. Starting at the bottom of the staff, simply assign each note letter to a line:
Every
Good
Boy
Deserves
Fudge
